Qpercom Candidate Quick Start Guide

Taking an examination or participating in a clinical assessment can be a high-pressure experience, but navigating your assessment platform shouldn’t be.

Welcome to the Qpercom Assessment Platform! Whether you are taking an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI), or completing an online knowledge assessment, Qpercom is designed to make your experience as seamless and intuitive as possible.

This quick start guide will walk you through everything you need to know to successfully navigate the platform, from activating your account to receiving your final feedback.

1. Getting Started: Activating Your Account & Logging In

Before your assessment day, your administration team will register you on the platform. Once registered, here is how to access your account:

  • Navigate to your Qpercom URL: Go to the specific URL provided by your organisation (e.g., example.qpercom.com).
  • Activate Your Account: Click on Initial Login/Forgot Password? on the login page. Input your identifier or registered email address to request an activation email. Note: You must use the exact email address registered by your assessment team.
  • Set Your Password: Open the activation email, click the reset credentials hyperlink, and securely set your password.
  • Log In: Return to the Qpercom login page and log in using your registered email and new password.

2. Navigating Your Candidate Dashboard

Once logged in, you will land on your Dashboard. This is your personal hub for all your assessment needs, featuring your profile, upcoming events, and outstanding tasks.

From the top menu, you can navigate to:

  • Assessments: This page displays all the upcoming tasks and assessment events you have been scheduled to take. You can expand each item to view details like the assessment description and dates.
  • Logbook: Your searchable Logbook displays all your completed assessment events in chronological order. Whenever personalized feedback is published by your institution, you can easily view and download it from this page.
  • Media Bank: If you are using Qpercom for ePortfolio submissions, your Media Bank is where you can upload and manage your portfolio assets. You can submit curated media assets to receive feedback.

3. Crucial Preparation: The Virtual Compatibility Check

If you are participating in a Live Remote Assessment, you must complete a Virtual Compatibility Check well in advance of your assessment day. This diagnostic test ensures your device, operating system, browser, camera, microphone, and internet connection are appropriate to participate.

How to complete the check:

  1. Click on the accessible assessment from your Dashboard.
  2. When prompted by your browser, ensure you click Allow to grant permissions for both your camera and microphone.
  3. If you pass all elements of the check, you will see a green Proceed to Assessment button, which will take you to your waiting room.

Important Tips for Remote Assessments:

  • Use a Supported Browser: Supported browsers include the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. (Note: For some Mac devices, Safari is not a supported browser and you will need to switch to Edge, Firefox, or Chrome).
  • Check Your Environment: Use a private location with a strong, stable Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Do not use mobile data, a mobile hotspot, or public Wi-Fi, as these are not reliable.
  • Safe Exam Browser: For certain secure assessments, you may be required to download the Safe Exam Browser and a Configuration file to lock down your device securely.

4. Assessment Day Walkthrough

Once in the waiting area, you will be guided entirely by the system’s automated state changes. You will always know what is happening by checking the state bar at the top of your screen.

  • Preparation: During this initial state, an assessment team member may join your waiting area to check in with you and check your ID.
  • Reading Time: When the assessment begins, you will be presented with your first set of station instructions during the reading time state.
  • Assessment: Once reading time concludes, you will automatically enter the assessment state. You will be joined virtually by your assessors and actors. You have the option to pin and unpin the video tiles of participants depending on who you would like to focus on.
  • Moving Through Stations: You will be automatically moved in and out of all stations for your assessment.

Need to adjust your settings during the exam? You can click the cogs icon at any time to adjust your audio and video input/output sources, and toggle notification sounds via the bell icon.

5. Wrapping Up

Once you have completed your final station, you will be informed by the state bar when your assessment has completed. At this point, please safely log out of Qpercom.

Remember, your assessment results and customized feedback PDF reports will be delivered directly to your Logbook once they have been finalized and published by your assessment team.

Best of luck with your upcoming assessments!

If you experience any unresolvable technical issues during your setup, please report them to your assessment team well in advance of your assessment day.
