Indication: For arterial bleeding from the feet and lower legs.
Pressure Point: The popliteal artery runs as an extension of the femoral artery along the back of the knee.
Procedure
- Place a firm support such as a bandage roll or handkerchief in the back of the knee.
- Bend the knee until the heel is almost in contact with the buttocks [Figure 10].
- Move or enlarge the support in the back of the knee if the bleeding cannot be controlled.
