Comparative percussion
Usually, only comparative percussion is carried out on the lateral thorex. This can best be done with the patient sitting down, subsequent to percussion of the posterior thorax.
Procedure
Percuss both sies of the seated patient in a few places. Examine a larger area in the event of abnormal findings and try to mark the boundaries of the abnormal area [Figures 26a and 26b].
