Curled Toe
The third, fourth or fifth toe crosses under the medially adjacent toe. Passive correction of the toe concerned is possible. In the case of complaints (painful callus formation), release the flexor tendon.
Digitus Superductus V
The fifth toe crosses over the fourth toe. This is usually a hereditary deformity. Surgical correction can be carried out in which both the bony and soft-tissue parts are released.
Syndactyly And Polydactyly
Syndactyly – Toes are fused together. Only requires surgical correction for cosmetic purposes, as it does not cause any functional problems.
Polydactyly – Presence of extra toes. Makes it impossible to wear normal shoes. Therefore, surgical removal of the extra toes is advised.
