Qpercom Assessor Quick Start Guide

Welcome to the Qpercom Assessment Platform! As an assessor, your focus should be entirely on evaluating candidates and providing valuable feedback, not wrestling with complex software.

Whether you are grading live Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), conducting Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs), or reviewing self-recorded asynchronous submissions, Qpercom is built to streamline your assessment workflow.

This quick start guide will walk you through everything you need to know to successfully navigate the platform, from configuring your station to successfully submitting your final scoresheets.

1. Getting Started: Logging In & Account Settings

Accessing the platform and managing your profile is quick and straightforward:

  • Navigate to your Qpercom URL: Go to the specific URL provided by your organisation (this usually looks something like example.qpercom.com).
  • Log In: Enter your Identifier or full registered email address, along with the password provided by your assessment team, and click Log in.
  • Account Settings: In the top right corner of your screen, click your initials to access your account settings. Here, you can click Manage Account to securely change your password, or click Logout to exit the system.

2. Preparation: Virtual Compatibility & Remote Settings

If you are participating in a Live Remote Assessment, ensuring your technology is ready is a crucial first step.

  • Camera & Microphone Permissions: When prompted by your browser, you must click Allow to grant permissions for both your camera and microphone so you can fully participate in the assessment.
  • Virtual Compatibility Check: All assessors can complete a diagnostic check to ensure their device, operating system, browser, camera, microphone, and network connection meet the necessary requirements. Please report any issues identified during this check to your assessment team well in advance.
  • Adjusting Settings: You can click the settings cog icon at any time to adjust your audio input/output sources and choose the appropriate video input source.

3. Finding Your Station: Assigned vs. Manual Configuration

On the day of the assessment, you need to navigate to your designated station to begin.

  • Direct Access: If you have been pre-assigned to assess at a specific station, your assessment will be listed on your dashboard. Simply click the green Go button to join your station directly.
  • Manual Configuration: Alternatively, you can configure your station manually. You will need to carefully select the following from the dropdown menus: Assessment Period, Branch, Assessment event, Session, your Station, and the first Group of Candidates. You can also choose a Text Scaling option that is comfortable for you to read. Once complete, click Set and Continue to load your Candidate list.

4. Evaluating Candidates: Selection & Confirmation

Once at your station, you will be presented with a list of all candidates scheduled for your group.

  • Select a Candidate: When the time comes, select your first candidate from the list and click the green Assess button.
  • Marking Absences: If your candidate does not show up, click the red Absent button to mark them as absent on the submitted list.
  • Confirmation Screen: After clicking Assess, a confirmation screen will appear. Confirm the identity of the candidate in your station. If you are satisfied, click Yes, assess to proceed to their scoresheet. If you find you have a different candidate in front of you, click No, Back to List and select the correct name.

5. Scoring & Feedback: Completing and Updating Scoresheets

This is where you will record the candidate’s performance and provide valuable feedback.

  • Completing Scoresheets: Read the scoresheet and any associated notes carefully. Start marking the candidate’s performance, and click Submit once you are finished. All data is saved instantly upon submission.
  • Saving Partially Completed Work: If you need to pause, click Save Copy/Next Candidate. This moves the scoresheet to an Incomplete list for you to finish later. You must ensure you return to the incomplete list and submit a fully completed scoresheet for all candidates.
  • Managing the Incomplete List: If you are inadvertently removed from a scoresheet, the system safely places that candidate in your Incomplete list. From here, you can click Complete to finish marking, or Discard to return them to the Next Candidate list.
  • Updating Scoresheets: Need to change a score? At any stage, you can select a candidate’s scoresheet from the Submitted list and click Update Result to adjust your marks and feedback comments.
  • Assess Subsequent Groups: Once you have successfully assessed all candidates in your current group, use the Group dropdown menu to select the next scheduled group for your station.

6. Asynchronous Assessments & Wrapping Up

  • Scoring Asynchronous Assessments: For written or self-recorded video assessments where you are scoring after the fact, look for a small icon next to the candidate’s name. This indicates they have submitted a response. Select the candidate and click Assess Candidate to begin scoring and adding feedback to their submission.
  • Final Checks: When your assessment session is concluding, please double-check that you have submitted a completed scoresheet for all candidates at your station across all groups.
  • Logging Out: Once you have confirmed all scoresheets are submitted, please safely Logout of Qpercom using the account menu in the top right corner.

Thank you for your vital role in the assessment process!
