Presentation Of Complaints

Normally, there is agreement between “what” the patient tells you and “how” the patient further supports their complaints with non-verbal conduct. It is essential that you check whether there are inconsistencies in what the patient presents as their complaints and the way in which the patient presents these complaints. These inconsistencies could be indicative of a simulation or dissimilation, indicative for a personality disorder, pathological lying, dissociation, fugue or a factitious disorder.
