With Tissue Adhesive

Procedure

  • Tap out any adhesive that remains in the spout.
  • Cut the end of the tube with a pair of sterile scissors, or a no. 15 blade.
  • Bring the edges of the wound together with your fingers, keeping your fingers away from the wound itself.
  • Apply the tissue adhesive to the skin in the thinnest layer possible.
  • Maintain pressure on the edges of the wound for approximately 10 seconds; avoid contact between the adhesive and gauze or tweezers.
  • When the adhesive has dried sufficiently, release the wound margins.
  • Seal the top of the tube with a match flame.
