Procedure
- Open the bottle or minim measure containing mydriatics.
- Pull down the lower eyelid, exposing the conjunctival pouch.
- Ask patient to look up.
- Drop the prescribed number of mydriatic droplets into the exposed conjunctival pouch.
Do not to touch the patient’s eyelashes with the dropper, to avoid contamination. The latter is definitely applicable when not using a single dose packaging. After application, the patient can hold their head straight again or to sit upright (unless the examination requires the patient to be in a different position).
