Physical Examination Of A Child Aged 1 Year Or Older

The following findings may occur in the case of a child with a congenital abnormality at this age. The difference in abduction will become less due to a reduction in the adduction contracture on the dislocated side and a physiological decrease in the abduction of the healthy side. The extra gluteal fold will have disappeared. The difference in leg length will be more marked (Galeazzi’s test). A child that can already walk may walk with a limp due to the dislocated hip and the difference in leg length.
