A third deformity<\/strong><\/span> in the sagittal plane is the exaggerated lumbar lordosis<\/strong><\/span>. This occasionally occurs in women and is rarely prevalent in men. The exaggerated lordosis may be a cause for back symptoms that are difficult to treat. Exercise therapy<\/strong><\/span> may improve the situation, but the reverse tilting of the excessively forward tilted pelvis is hard to maintain for the patient. The muscle strength required for this and the stamina of the pelvis girdle and torso muscles in particular can often not be sufficiently trained for. A corset may sometimes be of use to reduce the lordosis and the back symptoms.<\/span><\/p>\n
