{"id":1703,"date":"2010-12-13T09:36:28","date_gmt":"2010-12-13T09:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cloverock.info\/mockosce23\/new\/history-taking-5\/"},"modified":"2023-09-07T16:38:19","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T15:38:19","slug":"history-taking-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/index.php\/obstetrics\/subsequent-check-ups\/history-taking-5\/","title":{"rendered":"History-Taking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every check-up starts with <strong>brief history-taking<\/strong>, covering the period since the last consultation.<\/p>\n<p>Enquire about the <strong>physical<\/strong> and <strong>mental well-being<\/strong> and ask whether the <strong>advice<\/strong> given (<em>e.g. concerning diet or risk factors<\/em>) has been followed.<\/p>\n<p>Pay particular attention to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Headache, heavy feeling in the abdominal area, visual complaints, oedema (<em>gestational hypertension<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>Uterine contractions.<\/li>\n<li>Blood loss.<\/li>\n<li>Amniotic fluid loss.<\/li>\n<li>Reduced or no more perceptible foetal movements. Make specific enquiries about this if the examination gives cause to do so. If the history-taking indicates signs of abnormalities, the examination should be expanded accordingly (<em>e.g. gestational hypertension\/pre-eclampsia, threatened premature birth, etc<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every check-up starts with brief history-taking, covering the period since the last consultation.
