The location may indicate the point at which these arise (<em>atria or large vessels<\/em>). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Besides the presence of other pulsations, the presence of &#8216;<em>thrills<\/em>&#8216; is noted. These thrills are tremors over the heart that translocate due to a more rapid blood flow through a stenotic valve. For example, a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">diastolic thrill<\/span> in the case of <em>mitral stenosis<\/em> or a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systolic thrill<\/span> in the case of a <em>ventricular septal defect<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Palpation for other pulsations should be carried out by placing the flat of the hand over the precordium.
