When moving the slit beam<\/strong><\/span> slowly across the eye globe<\/strong><\/span>, from lateral side into the medial direction, you see two small reflections<\/span> of the light beam<\/strong><\/span>. The front one<\/span> is the reflection of the light onto the cornea<\/strong><\/span> [Figure 60-1, a]<\/strong><\/em>, the back one<\/span> is the reflection onto the iris<\/strong><\/span> [Figure 60-1, b]<\/strong><\/em>. As you approach the pupil<\/strong><\/span> [Figure 60-2]<\/strong><\/em>, you will notice that both lines diverge<\/em> from each other and that the cornea<\/strong><\/span> [Figure 60-2, a]<\/strong><\/em>, exhibits a clear curvature<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n The distance<\/strong><\/span> between these two lines is the image of the anterior eye chamber<\/strong><\/span><\/span> On the front<\/em> and back<\/em> of this broad structure, a fine white border<\/strong><\/span> is visible. This is the anterior<\/strong><\/span> and posterior lens capsule<\/strong><\/span>. In the structure itself, sometimes even fainter<\/span> vertical white lines<\/span> are detectable. These are the layers<\/strong><\/span> from which the lens is built up.<\/span><\/p>\n The distance<\/strong><\/span> between the first<\/em> thin white line, the reflection<\/strong><\/span> onto the cornea [60-3, a]<\/strong><\/em>, and front border of the eye lens is the depth<\/strong><\/span> of the anterior eye chamber<\/strong><\/span> [60-3, d]<\/strong><\/em>.
