Be careful not to shine the light straight into the eye; it will temporarily blind the patient.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Check if this light stimulation <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>narrows the pupil<\/strong><\/span> and whether it widens again once the stimulus is gone (<em>direct pupillary reaction to light<\/em>).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Briefly illuminate the right eye once more and observe if the pupil of the left eye narrows and whether it widens again when the stimulus is removed (<em>indirect pupillary reaction to light<\/em>).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Repeat this illumination procedure for the left eye.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Required Materials Penlight.
