Your eye will be positioned at the same height as that of the patient.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Ask the patient to close the left eye or to loosely cover it with a hand (<em>or with a cover patch if needed<\/em>). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Close your right eye. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The hands are placed in an imaginary plane (<em>a, b, c, d<\/em>) that is located between your knees and those of the patient.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The distance of this imaginary plane to your eyes will be at an equal distance to the eyes of the patient. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">In this plane, the sections of the visual fields of both yours (<em>p, o\u2019, q<\/em>) and those of the patient (<em>p, o, q<\/em>) are present and they completely overlap <em><strong>[Figure 31]<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span class=\"jce_caption\" style=\"display: inline-block; color: #003366;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1598\" style=\"margin: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/cloverock.info\/mockosce23\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-31.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-31.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-31-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><strong><span style=\"width: 400px; display: block;\">Figure 31<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Move both hands to the side, so that you can only just see them. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Make a circular movement around the border of the visual field with both hands, each time moving them slightly further along the border. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Make alternate movements with fingers of one of either hand, or both hands simultaneously, and ask the patient to indicate which of the hands is making a movement <em><strong>[Figure 32]<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span class=\"jce_caption\" style=\"display: inline-block; color: #003366;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1599\" style=\"margin: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/cloverock.info\/mockosce23\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-32.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-32.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-32-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><strong><span style=\"width: 400px; display: block;\">Figure 32<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Place one of your hands in the middle of the border of the temporal upper quadrant of the visual field, and the other in the middle of the nasal lower quadrant. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">From this position, move both hands, alternating the fingers of either hand or moving both hands simultaneously towards the middle of the visual field <em><strong>[Figure 33]<\/strong><\/em>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The patient indicates which fingers they can see moving. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Finally, repeat the procedure but now start from the temporal lower quadrant and the nasal upper quadrant. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The horizontal and vertical line is examined in the same manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">When the examination of the left eye is completed repeat the procedure for the right eye.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span class=\"jce_caption\" style=\"display: inline-block; color: #003366;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-1600\" style=\"margin: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/cloverock.info\/mockosce23\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-33.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-33.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/EyeVision_ey-fig-33-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><strong><span style=\"width: 400px; display: block;\">Figure 33<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donders\u2019 Confrontation Method Procedure Sit opposite the patient, with your knees just aside of the patient\u2019s knees.
