Normally, there is agreement between \u201cwhat<\/em>\u201d the patient tells you and \u201chow<\/em>\u201d the patient further supports their complaints with non-verbal conduct. It is essential that you check whether there are inconsistencies<\/span> in what the patient presents as their complaints and the way in which the patient presents these complaints. These inconsistencies could be indicative of a simulation or dissimilation, indicative for a personality disorder<\/strong><\/span>, pathological lying<\/strong><\/span>, dissociation<\/strong><\/span>, fugue<\/strong><\/span> or a factitious disorder<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
