{"id":1487,"date":"2010-12-06T09:42:24","date_gmt":"2010-12-06T09:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cloverock.info\/mockosce23\/new\/suicidality\/"},"modified":"2023-11-01T15:54:17","modified_gmt":"2023-11-01T15:54:17","slug":"suicidality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qpercom.com\/sim\/index.php\/the-psychiatric-interview\/characteristics-of-the-mental-status-examination\/suicidality\/","title":{"rendered":"Suicidality"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The wish\/thought of ending one\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">We distinguish between:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong><em>Detailed Plans:<\/em><\/strong><\/span> There are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">detailed thought<\/span>s or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">plans<\/span> to end one\u2019s life.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong><em>No Detailed Plans: <\/em><\/strong><\/span>Death is perceived as a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">solution<\/span>, but there are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no plans<\/span> or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">specific actions<\/span> to end life.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>Suicidality<\/strong><\/span> should always be explored. The idea that health professionals may set the stage for an actual suicide by asking suicidal person\u2019s about it, has been ruled out. On the contrary, exploring suicidal ideation often provides an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">opening<\/span> to discuss current problems, which some people consider a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">relief<\/span>. Suicidality is common in many psychiatric disorders, including <em>depressive disorder<\/em>, <em>anxiety disorders<\/em>, <em>substance abuse<\/em> and <em>schizophrenia<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The wish\/thought of ending one\u2019s life.
