Orientation is always classified as orientation to <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>time<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>place<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>person<\/strong><\/span>. Orientation dysfunctions (<em>often in combination with dysfunctions in consciousness and attention<\/em>) are indicative of a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">delirium<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dementia<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">amnesic syndrome<\/span>, but also of a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">depressive disorder<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">alcohol dependence<\/span> or other <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">substance abuse<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">psychotic disorders<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dysfunctions in orientation become apparent when a patient cannot coherently talk about recent events, has misconceptions about where they are, or does not know who they are.
