On the other hand, they can also respond <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">quickly<\/span> to new stimuli (<em>increased distraction<\/em>). With increased distraction, attracting attention is easy, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sustaining<\/span> it is difficult. This is indicative of a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mania<\/span>. Not being able to sustain attention, or a delayed response, may be indicative of an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">anxiety disorder<\/span>, a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">depressive disorder<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">schizophrenia<\/span>, or of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cognitive disorders<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dysfunctions in attention become apparent when a patient has trouble focusing on new stimuli (does not respond\/responds slowly\/brief answers to questions).
