This can be done <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mechanically<\/span> (<em>scissors and tweezers, wet gauzes, rinsing with 0.9% NaCl or 3% H2O3<\/em>), <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">chemically<\/span> using <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>enzymes<\/strong><\/span> or by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">autolytic debridement<\/span> using <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>physiological proteolytic enzymes<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">The skin around the sore can be protected by applying <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>pharmaceutical products<\/strong><\/span>, such as zinc oxide &#8211; Vaseline ointment. There are various ways to treat the sore itself. It is important that the applied products are as inert as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">A number of (<em>non-standard<\/em>) preparations are listed below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Zinc oxide &#8211; Vaseline paste.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Zinc oxide &#8211; Vaseline ointment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Ointment gauze dressing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Aqueous solution of 1% gentian violet (<em>cacogenic eczem<\/em>a).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">In the case of bacterial infection, the following can be used after culturing:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">3% Vioform in zinc oxide ointment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">1% silver Sulfadiazine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">0.5 g pulverised KMn04 dissolved in 2000 cc H2O.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Sulphur, dusted over sore 6 times daily (<em>or applied as wet dressing in case of ulcerating sore<\/em>).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>Eczema<\/strong><\/span> may develop around the sore (<em>epidermal dermatitis<\/em>) due to contact allergy to Lanolin and Eucerin. This should be treated with a preparation of 1% hydrocortisone in zinc oxide Vaseline ointment. The dressing should include a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>dressing layer<\/strong><\/span> and a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>fixing layer<\/strong><\/span>. Finally, a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">pressure-gradient bandage<\/span> should be applied.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Treatment of crural ulcers consists of: Debridement.
