The material is loosely woven and usually contains 21 threads per cm2. The absorbent nature of the material is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">limited<\/span>; upon saturation the fluid leaks out. The bandage is not very strong and is non-elastic, as a result of which the bandage does not adequately conform to the shape of the body part involved. The standard length is 400 cm, the standard widths are 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 cm. The absorbent gauze roller bandage is only suitable for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>fixing wound dressings<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Elastic Fixing Roller Bandage<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Bandage made of a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>loosely woven material<\/strong><\/span> comprising highly elastic <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>polyamide threads<\/strong><\/span> lengthwise and cotton threads crosswise. Most products display 100% elasticity. The elasticity allows the bandage to conform well to the shape of the body part, without exerting pressure. The bandage is only suitable for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>fixing dressings on a wound<\/strong><\/span>. The sizes are the same as for absorbent gauze roller bandage.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Cambric Roller Bandage<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Cotton bandage, to which <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>cellulose<\/strong><\/span> is sometimes added. Because the tissue is closely woven, with a fairly thick weft thread, the bandage is rigid and non-elastic. The bandage does not adequately conform to body shapes. The high tenacity makes the bandage suitable for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>exerting pressure<\/strong> <\/span>as a pressure bandage or wound compression bandage. The tissue <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">shrinks<\/span> when it becomes <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">damp<\/span>. The available sizes are the same as for absorbent gauze roller bandage.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Stockinette Bandage<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">This is a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>tubular knitted<\/strong><\/span> bandage made of <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>100% cotton<\/strong><\/span>. The elasticity is greater crosswise than lengthwise. Stockinette bandaging is sometimes used to <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>fix bandages<\/strong><\/span>. It is also used as a stocking around the body part to <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>protect the skin<\/strong><\/span> when a plaster cast is applied.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Flannel Roller Bandage<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">This is an <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>unbleached<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>closely woven<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>non-elastic cotton bandage<\/strong><\/span>. The thick threads are roughened on both sides of the material. The air trapped within the roughened material <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>insulates<\/strong><\/span> by retaining body heat. The flannel bandage is used primarily when body heat insulation is desired.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Crepe Roller Bandage.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">This bandage made of cotton fibres remains permanently elastic due to a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>crepe weave structure<\/strong><\/span>. The bandage can be <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>stretched out<\/strong><\/span> to twice its length and is therefore highly suitable for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>fixing wound dressings<\/strong><\/span>. Furthermore, the crepe bandage can be used in a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>support bandage<\/strong> <\/span>where slight pressure on the lower layer is required.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Ideal Short Stretch Bandage<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">This is made of <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>cotton<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>synthetic threads<\/strong><\/span>. Ideal bandages have a high tensile strength, can be stretched lengthwise and washed repeatedly. The width of the bandage does not decrease upon lengthwise stretching. The bandage is suitable for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>fixing wound dressings<\/strong><\/span> and for <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>support bandaging<\/strong><\/span> where slight pressure on the underlying bandaging material is required.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Elastic Stretch Net Bandage<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">A <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>woven tubular net bandage<\/strong><\/span> made of <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>cotton<\/strong><\/span> and\/or <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>synthetic threads<\/strong><\/span>, into which natural rubber has been processed. The elastic net bandage is slid over a body part to hold bandaging material in place. Holes can be cut in the threads for protruding body parts. The net bandage is a good alternative to roller bandage, particularly at sites where it is certain that the bandage will work <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">loose<\/span> (<em>joints<\/em>) or where it is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">difficult to apply<\/span> (<em>face<\/em>). Elastic net bandage can also be applied to anchor roller bandaging.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><em>Plasters.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Plasters are universal fixing products available in many different forms. The carrier and adhesive materials determine what the plaster can be used for. The carrier can be made of various materials, such as <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>polyethylene<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>viscose<\/strong><\/span> or <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>cellulose<\/strong><\/span> (<em>materials permeable to air<\/em>), and <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>PVC foil<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>artificial silk<\/strong><\/span> which are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">impermeable<\/span> to air and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">water repellent<\/span>. The adhesive material is a <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>polyacrylate<\/strong><\/span> or a mixture of <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>rubber<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>zinc oxide<\/strong><\/span>.
