In the next few months Winny Setyonugroho, PhD student supervised by Dr Thomas Kropmans, senior lecturer in Medical Informatics & Medical Education and founder CEO of Qpercom, is expecting his research to be published in Patient Education and Counselling. Winny’s first paper, a Systematic Review on the Rubrics of Communication Skills highlighted the missing consensus between researchers about existing domains of Communication Skills in undergraduate medical education. There are in total 27 domains of Communication Skills assessed by examiners and/or standardised patients discussed in the International literature in Medical Education. Despite previously published reviews the situation remains unclear of what is meant as communication skills and guidelines are not designed to be used as measurement instruments. OMIS will be prepared to enable you to perform similar research as was initiated at our own home base. We will keep you updated!
